Map Trends: find your next Fortnite map idea
Map Trends is the Island Pilot space for finding your next game idea: Fortnite island charts, Roblox and web game picks, and your own references, all in one place. When an idea catches your eye, the Trend Analyst scores it on six criteria and suggests a concrete test.
Fortnite, Roblox and web trends in one place
| Source | What you get |
|---|---|
| Fortnite islands, via FNTerminal | Creator islands that are most played, rising, new, best at retention and highest in estimated earnings, with live players and D1 and D7 retention |
| Roblox | Public, non-sponsored charts: trending games and most played right now |
| Web games | Popular picks from online game sites |
| Your additions | Links, YouTube videos, images and free-form cards |
Sources are fetched when Island Pilot starts, then whenever you click “Refresh sources”. Collecting them runs no AI model, so it costs nothing on your subscription.
Organize your references: folders, notes and tags
A good idea gets lost fast in a pile of screenshots. Here, every inspiration can be filed and annotated:
- Folders to group a project, a genre or a set of references.
- Notes shown right on the previews: what you liked, what you’d change.
- Tags like “tycoon”, “survival” or “coop”, to find every reference in a genre and filter the list.
The library is shared across all your projects: deleting a project deletes none of your folders, notes or analyses. A saved card keeps the dated observation from when you saved it.
The Trend Analyst scores your selection on 6 criteria
Select up to 8 inspirations and open a conversation with the Trend Analyst. It reads the observations in small batches and saves one evaluation per game, on six criteria scored 0 to 4, or “unknown” when data is missing:
- Traction
- How many players, based on the available figures
- Momentum
- Whether the trend is climbing or fading
- Engagement
- Retention and playtime, when known
- Differentiation
- What sets the concept apart from its neighbors
- UEFN feasibility
- What it would take to build in UEFN
- Concept clarity
- Whether a player gets it quickly
It doesn’t add these up into an artificial total. It keeps observed facts, hypotheses and tests to run apart, then ends with the best-supported opportunity, its evidence, its uncertainty and one measurable prototype test. It suggests original adaptations, never a copy of another game’s title, branding or assets.
Ways to use it
- Spot the tycoons rising this week, tag them and compare their D7 retention.
- Put three Roblox games and a YouTube video in a “Coop” folder, then ask the analyst what would be feasible in UEFN.
- Keep a free-form card with your own concept next to the references that inspire it.
Once you’ve picked a direction, move on to building it with the orchestrator and the AI agent team.
What the data doesn’t tell you
- Catalogs are partial: missing data doesn’t mean zero.
- Editorial badges (Hot, Top Rated, popular this week) measure neither retention nor revenue.
- An imported video only brings its metadata: the analyst hasn’t watched it.
- Fortnite island earnings are FNTerminal estimates, not Epic Games figures.
The Trend Analyst is read-only: it changes neither your files nor the editor, and one analysis is capped at 16 steps.
